New ideas, new connections, and new trade lanes to emerge within the network
Dear members,
Dear members,
As we close the chapter on 2025, it’s clear that it has been a strong and defining year for The Coop. Collaboration across the network reached new levels, with members actively engaging, sharing expertise, and building partnerships that go well beyond individual markets. Our 8th Annual Meeting was a particular highlight. The momentum we saw throughout the year reflects the strength of our community and the value of working together with a shared purpose.

Looking ahead to 2026, our expectations are both ambitious and grounded. We see continued opportunities for deeper cooperation, smarter networking, and more focused business development across regions. The coming year will be about building on what already works while creating space for new ideas, new connections, and new trade lanes to emerge within the network.
One of the key milestones on the calendar is our 9th Annual Meeting, taking place from 11th to 13th May in Bangkok. This event is central to how members connect, plan, and grow business within The Coop. As always, preparation will be essential to making the most of the meetings, discussions, and networking opportunities. That’s why this edition includes a short post on how to prepare effectively, so you can arrive with clear goals and leave with tangible outcomes.
This newsletter also brings together a selection of industry news and key headlines shaping the logistics and freight forwarding landscape. From sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives to developments in intermodal transport, port resilience, and healthcare logistics, these stories provide useful context for the challenges and opportunities ahead. Alongside this, you’ll find updates from our members over the past three months, as well as links to informative blogs designed to support your day-to-day business and long-term planning.
Thank you for your continued engagement and contribution to The Coop. We look forward to an exciting and productive year ahead, and to welcoming many of you in Bangkok in May.
Kind regards,
Antonio Torres
President and Founder - The Cooperative Logistics Network
The Cooperative Logistics Network’s 9th Annual Meeting will take place from 11th to 13th May 2026 at the InterContinental Hotel in Bangkok, bringing together more than 200 freight forwarders from across the globe. Designed exclusively for members, this event offers a rare opportunity to strengthen partnerships, explore new trade lanes, and expand international reach through structured one-to-one meetings and high-value networking.
If you’re attending, chances are the logistics are already handled. Flights booked. Hotel confirmed. Visa secured. Agenda set. But keep in mind that simply being present isn’t enough. The real value of a global logistics meeting lies in preparation. A clear strategy can turn a packed schedule into measurable business outcomes.
Start by getting clear on why you’re attending. Are you looking to enter new markets, reinforce existing partnerships, or identify reliable agents in specific trade lanes? Knowing your primary objective will shape every conversation you have at the event.
Next, set concrete goals. Instead of aiming to “network,” be specific. For example:
Finally, decide how you’ll measure success. This could include the number of one-to-one meetings completed, leads generated for follow-up, or actionable insights gained from discussions. Clear benchmarks help you assess the real return on your time and investment.
The one-to-one meetings are the backbone of The Coop’s Annual Meeting. To make them count, preparation is essential.
Research the companies and delegates you’ll be meeting. Understand their services, market focus, and regional strengths. Knowing who you’re talking to and what they need allows you to guide conversations with purpose.
Clarify the intent of each meeting. Are you evaluating a new partnership, discussing a specific trade lane, or exploring collaboration opportunities? Come prepared with focused questions and a clear value proposition.
Have a concise elevator pitch ready. You should be able to explain who you are, what you do, and why your company is a strong partner in under a minute. Supporting materials such as brochures, key statistics, or digital presentations can reinforce your message.
Also, look beyond scheduled meetings. Social events, coffee breaks, lunches, and evening gatherings often lead to the most organic and valuable connections.
A few essentials can make a big difference:
The Coop’s Annual Meeting is more than a calendar event. It’s a strategic opportunity to grow your network, strengthen alliances, and position your company for the year ahead. With the right preparation, every conversation can move your business forward.
Plan well, stay focused, and make every meeting count. See you in Bangkok!

Ocean shipping positioned as a core solution in the Decade of Sustainable Transport

The World Shipping Council (WSC) joined political leaders and transport industry representatives at the United Nations to mark the launch of the Decade of Sustainable Transport, drawing attention to the critical role ocean shipping plays in reducing emissions across global supply chains.
Public conversations around sustainable transport often focus on visible sectors such as urban mobility and electric vehicles. Shipping, which largely operates out of sight, is frequently labelled as a hard-to-abate industry. Yet oceangoing vessels move nearly 80 percent of global trade and remain one of the most climate-efficient freight transport modes.
Speaking at the UN, WSC President and CEO Joe Kramek emphasized that shipping’s energy transition represents a significant opportunity for countries to invest in renewable marine fuels and supporting infrastructure. He stressed that the ocean leg of global supply chains must be fully integrated into the goals and actions of the Decade of Sustainable Transport.
Liner shipping, he noted, is already making substantial commitments. The sector has invested USD 150 billion in firm orders for 1,035 dual-fuel vessels scheduled for delivery by 2030. These ships are designed to operate on low- and zero-emission fuels, signalling a major shift toward cleaner maritime transport.
Kramek highlighted the importance of collaboration between governments and the private sector to unlock affordable green marine fuels and the infrastructure needed to support them. He also pointed to the broader economic opportunities created by shipping’s decarbonisation, alongside its potential to accelerate emissions reductions across entire supply chains.
In addition, WSC underlined the need for effective global greenhouse gas regulation through the International Maritime Organization. By elevating ocean shipping within the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport, WSC aims to ensure the sector is recognised not as a challenge on the sidelines, but as a central part of the solution for a more sustainable global transport system.

The growth of our network in the past few years has been astounding. Although The Cooperative now has now 354 official agents across 139 countries, we still have enough room for more agents!
Members referring other qualified freight forwarding agents who then successfully become members of The Coop will receive a 25% discount on their next membership fee for every successful candidate up to a maximum of four per annum.
Members can add their branch offices in the same country as their Head Office membership for a 50% of the specified membership fee for the territory.
