This event has been the first coordinated training course since Illice Universal signed a collaboration deal with VAME
Marisa Moreno, the Managing Director and Owner of Illice Universal Logistics, a Coop member in Valencia, Spain, has recently spoken at a General Meeting of VAME (Association of Companies producing Nursery Plants from the Province of Alicante) on ‘How to export ornamental plants to the United Kingdom? Evolution of international markets with COVID-19’.
In the course of her speech, Ms. Moreno touched upon the present economic situation and its impact on the international markets. She also emphasized the fact that the global economy is facing the greatest economic social and health crisis since World War II. To quote Ms. Moreno “This year the global GDP might fall by over 10% while the world trade could shrink by 13% -32% depending on the extent of the global economic recession and the time until when the pandemic will last.” She further adds, “This crisis is also an opportunity for companies which want to secure their position in foreign markets above all for companies which are linked to the primary sector, biotechnology and technology.”
Marisa Moreno has also addressed the changes in the exports to UK in the post Brexit phase. During the presentation, she explained that the COVID-19 crisis has led to a postponement of trade deals and therefore it will be necessary to wait until the next dates to find out which measures will be applied in the export of ornamental plants and the documentation that will be required in the UK borders.
The Coop wishes the very best to Illice Universal Logistics for their future endeavours!
