BGI Worldwide Logistics: 18 candles on the Anniversary cake

We would like to congratulate BGI Worldwide Logistics, a COOP member in Los Angeles, CA (USA), as they celebrate their 18th anniversary this month

Founded in February 1999 as a two-person operation, the company has grown to more than 30 employees with operations in various locations throughout the USA. Still in growth mode, BGI recently opened a new branch office in Houston, Texas and added in-house Customs Brokerage to its menu of services in order to better serve its import clients.

Gabriel Shweiri, BGI co-founder and CEO, stated, “We are proud to have reached this milestone in our ongoing history. We have had 18 years of hard work and growth and we are thankful for our experienced staff, customers, repeat clients, suppliers, and colleagues for their part in our successful business operations. BGI is committed to providing clients with an unparalleled freight transportation and logistics experience.”

BGI is a full-service logistics company that provides ocean and air import and export, and domestic less-than-truckload (LTL), full truckload, and rail. Their specialty: delivering unique solutions to complex shipping problems.

BGI Worldwide new addition to the team

BGI Worldwide Logistics (A member of the COOP in Los Angeles, California) has recently signed the Licensed Customs Broker, Giselle Rodriguez. With the addition of Mrs. Rodriguez as an in-house customs broker, the company has increased their transportation capabilities. Mrs. Rodriguez has worked in the industry for over 10 years and has successfully facilitated numerous import supply chain transactions.

Gabriel Shweiri, BGI co-founder and CEO stated “We are committed to providing the best import/export experiences for our international clients. We believe that adding a licensed customs broker to our services portfolio delivers an exceptional import logistics capability for our new and existing clients.”.

The new addition to the team has been made in response to the complex import customs clearance process into the United States; which is made far less frustrating and often less expensive by using professional customs brokerage services (which Mrs Rodriguez can provide).

BGI Worldwide Logistics, Inc. was established in 1999 and offers on-demand transportation for domestic and international third-party logistics services to commercial customers. They specialize in delivering unique answers to complex shipping problems.

We invite all members with shipments to or from Los Angeles, to get in touch with the BGI Worldwide Logistics a team.

Navegante acquires North Star World Trade Services and T Brothers Trucking

On behalf of NAVEGATE LOGISTICS (Chicago, Los Angeles and Minneapolis) we would like to inform members that NAVEGATE has acquired NORTH STAR WORLD TRADE SERVICES and T BROTHERS TRUCKING.

Following eight successful years in strategic partnership, Navegate Inc. has acquired North Star World Trade Services and T Brothers Trucking. Navegate, a technology-focused transportation and logistics company, now combines forces with the 47-yearold international freight forwarder, North Star, and 20-year-old domestic trucking and transportation company, T Brothers, to form a third party logistics (3PL) company with expansive expertise.

Joe Pelletier, president of Navegate had this to say, “We have built a company that is substantial and gaining momentum. We have world class technology, carrier capacity, and the right people, enabling us to manage customers’ domestic and international supply chains, faster and smarter than ever.”

In addition, new branding has been unveiled beginning with a new website (www.navegate.com) featuring an expanded portfolio of global transportation and logistics services. “Our new website is key in our transformation, as it cohesively brings together all the aspects of the three companies,” said Pelletier, “and helps us showcase how Navegate is here to make the complex simple for our customers.”

BGI Worldwide Logistics ships a Hollywood legend

BGI WORLDWIDE LOGISTICS, a member of The COOP in Los Angeles, recently completed a the shipping of some rather unusual oversized cargo – a giant Marilyn Monroe sculpture to be installed in a Marilyn Monroe-themed shopping mall.

The sculpture, along with 2 large toolboxes for the assembly and installation, was shipped in four sections- 1 x 20′ flat rack and 1 x 40′ Open Top. The sculpture successfully made it to Dalian despite copious amounts of bureaucracy at Chinese customs.

“The toolboxes were a challenge for Chinese customs; the boxes contained both non-consumables which would be returned after installation (power tools, hand tools, chains, straps, etc.) and consumables (sand-paper, latex gloves, paint, etc.) which wouldn’t. A lot of documentation and clarification was needed for Chinese customs to allow these items through,” said Charlie Turville.

The team’s patience and due diligence in the customs process ensured a successful outcome.

We invite members with shipments in Los Angeles to get in touch with the team.
