Headway JSC a Coop member in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, is undertaking its latest initiative to support customers in purchasing and renovating shipping containers. They have recently converted old 40-feet high-cube containers into highly efficient side-opening containers, tailored for transporting goods from Hai Phong, Vietnam to Adelaide, Australia. This allows clients to deal with large, long-sized cargo, such as brown angle boards.

By converting traditional containers to side-opening models, Headway JSC is significantly enhancing the efficiency of loading and unloading processes. Moreover, the modification allows for a smoother, faster operation compared to conventional end-opening containers.

“This innovative shipping solution addresses pressing challenges such as container shortages and rising shipping costs. By repurposing old containers, we provide a cost-effective alternative tailored to specific client needs,” says Felix Nguyen, Sales & Agency Support Manager of Headway JSC. “Furthermore, the renovation approach contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing the amount of metal waste and limiting adverse ecological impacts,” he adds.

During the modification process, Headway and its technical team carefully calculated the opening of eight side doors for the 40-feet container, creating two sturdy pillars to increase load-bearing capacity. This helped to limit the risk of collapse and deformation due to changes in the container structure.

Congratulations to Headway JSC and all the best with their upcoming projects!

Headway JSC sees remarkable surge in squid and octopus exports to the US

According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnam’s overall squid and octopus export turnover reached USD 239 million in the first half of 2024

Headway JSC, a Coop member in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, has experienced an extraordinary increase in its squid and octopus exports to the United States. According to the latest data, shipments to the US have surged by an impressive 596.42% compared to the same period in 2023.

A detailed report from Headway highlights that the US has become an emerging growth market in 2024, with exports reaching 145.9 tons of squid and octopus. This significant volume exceeds expectations, given the stringent preservation regulations and quality maintenance required for goods throughout the long transportation process to the US.

T. Nguyen, Agency and Sales Director of Headway, explains that the US and Taiwan are the primary markets for Headway’s squid and octopus shipments. However, while Taiwan was the leading market in 2023, the latest trends indicate a shift, with the US now taking the lead. Moreover, as per the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnam’s overall squid and octopus export turnover reached USD 239 million in the first half of 2024, a slight decline compared to the same period last year.

Headway’s success can be attributed to its adoption of advanced technologies. The company has promoted the use of digitalization, modern storage systems, and a state-of-the-art container monitoring network. These innovations have allowed Headway to optimize its cold supply chain and ensure the preservation of goods, aligning with the company’s commitment to “greening” the entire goods circulation process and promoting sustainable economic benefits.”With these advancements, Headway is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory and maintain its competitive edge in the global seafood market,” adds Nguyen.
