This month we are pleased to announce that Interport Cargo Services (a member of the COOP in Brisbane, Australia) were fortunate enough to organise the importation, Customs clearance and unpacking of a super rare and exotic 1973 Porsche 917/30 racing car on behalf of a passionate Porsche collector

The vehicle will be shown and raced at various historic race meets and car shows around Australia.

The vehicle is considered by many petrolheads, as the holy grail of racing cars with only 6 built (with three of that number never raced). The 917/30 was the most powerful sports car ever built and raced and the 12 cylinder twin-turbocharged engine could produce 1,580 bhp (1,180 kW) in qualifying.

The 917/30 dominated the Can-Am series during the 1973 season, winning all but 2 races. The 917/30 could go from 0-100 km/h in 1.9 seconds, 0-160 km/h in 3.9 seconds, 0-320 km/h in 10.9 seconds and on to a top speed of more than 420 km/h.

Due to the sensitive nature of the delivery, the team handling the load took all necessary precautions and the load arrived securely at its destination.

We invite all members with shipments to or from Brisbane to get in touch with the Brisbane based COOP member Interport Cargo Services Pty Ltd.
